Process

The method I use in creating a portrait is as follows:

I first take photographs of the sitter in a few poses along with some close ups.  The purpose of the photographs is to select a pose and also to record details such as clothing, background, and other elements that do not really require a live sitting.  In this way, the time for live sittings is greatly reduced. With the help of these photos, I can produce a working drawing and develop the painting to an advanced stage; then, a live sitting is scheduled to make any necessary adjustments and bring the portrait painting to completion.  The portrait painting is then varnished and I can also offer assistance to the client in choosing an appropriate frame.

The cost of a proposed portrait is determined by its size and complexity as well as budgetary considerations.  To discuss your portrait ideas and for answers to any questions you may have,  please feel free to contact me.
